The 2024 Ohio Entertainment Awards is around the corner highlighting some of the state’s most talented up and coming actors and musicians.
Akron native and actor Dreday Williams , co-founder of the event joined us at WAOH-TV to talk about this year’s awards ceremony along with other events going on the weekend of November 15-17.
Williams discussed how the event got started back in 2012, and how he was proud of how the Ohio Entertainment Awards has grown over the last 12 years to where it is today.
“It’s been dope man,” he said. “It’s been amazing to give people their flowers, and let them know how important they are to us and to other people.”
Some of the categories at this year’s awards include: Best Male Artist, Song of the Year, Female Artist of the year, and more.
Dreday also talked about his venture into acting and how he studied different actors to hone his craft.
“I would pay attention to the actor’s facial expressions, his head movements, his eye contact, all of that,” he said.
He also talked about not only believing in yourself, but also in your brand as an entertainer.
“You have to market yourself and promote yourself, because you want people to be interested in what you’re doing,” he explained.
His first starring role “She Never Believed” will be premiering on November 16 at the Atlas Lakeshore Cinema at 4pm.
