Wake up with a smile and embrace the weekend vibes with Sue and Tim, Akron’s beloved media married couple, as they host “Saturday Morning with Sue and Tim.” The show is all about playing your favorite soft hits, and spreading positivity in a sometimes negative world with relatable stories, good news, and their feature “Akronisms” keeping you up on local happenings, and a touch of humor to kickstart your Saturday.
After so many years on the air at different radio stations, Sue Wilson and Tim Daugherty are now on the air together hosting Saturday Morning with Sue & Tim from 8am until Noon on 93.5/1590 WAKR. Sue and Tim’s paths crossed when Sue began working at 94.9 WQMX, and Tim was doing mornings on 97.5 WONE. Together, they brought their unique styles and personalities to their respective stations, earning them a special place in the hearts of their listeners. Sue and Tim share a profound commonality in their life journeys – both have experienced the loss of their spouses to cancer. This shared experience created a deep bond between them, as they understood the challenges, grief, and strength that come with such a loss.
Over the years, they have generously donated their time and talent to various charitable events, using their platform to raise funds and awareness for causes close to their hearts. Because of their cancer journey, it is fitting that Stewart’s Caring Place Cancer Wellness Center became their very first co-emcee cause, to honor their late spouses: Donna and Phil. They emceed and participated in that walk for many years. Over the years, they lent their emcee skills to a multitude of charitable events, including those organized by the American Red Cross, The Heart Association, Victory Gallop, Pay it Forward for Pets, Ronald McDonald House, Salvation Army, Taste Of Vintage for Hospice, Goodwill Industries, and Akron Children’s Hospital. Tim had a 20-year tenure as the host of the annual Children’s Miracle Network Telethon. The pair wants to continue to do what they can with the skills they have for years to come.
